We are happy to announce our new beta program on Data Protector's new responsive Java-GUI (graphics user interface)! This user friendly GUI has been specifically developed to meet the demands of companies to enable platform-independent storage management.

Key benefits and functionality of the new Java-GUI include:

  • Responsive Java-GUI.
  • Manage heterogeneous storage and backups across multiple hardware and operating system platforms from a single network console.
  • Flexibility to manage the Java JRE on the GUI client (concurrently with other JRE versions).
  • Ease of use and management.
  • Centralize administration and storage resources.
  • Same look and feel as Data Protector's current GUI, no learning needed and lowering training costs.
  • Allows customers to have mixed platform environments, giving flexibility and manageability they require.

Participating in the beta program will allow you to evaluate your satisfaction with the new Java-GUI and to influence the final version before the product's general availability.

You will also benefit from our lab's support, verifying your environment and helping you with technical issues during beta testing.

The first version available right now for download is meant to demonstrate the look and feel. Subsequent versions will have more/full functionality of the Data Protector GUI.

Please register to learn more about HP OpenView Storage Data Protector 6.0 Java-GUI and to participate in the beta program. Participating in the beta program will allow you to evaluate the Java-GUI and to influence the final version before the products's general availability.

And last but not least - the customer who submits the largest number of qualified test reports and the customer submits the test report that has the biggest positive impact to the final GUI will receive a HP iPAQ rx1955 Pocket PC . Please go to contest for further details.
